When lighting your candle, be sure to allow a consistent burn for 1-3 hours or until you achieve a melt pool (liquefied wax on the top layer of a burning candle) from each side of the container. This prevents your candle from tunneling.

It’s important to trim your wick to ¼ inch before lighting. You can use scissors or one of our stainless steel wick trimmers. This will ensure your candle burns cleaner, longer, and safer.

Place your candle on a flat, stable surface away from drafts or air currents. This helps the wax melt evenly and keeps your candle burning safely.

• Always keep a burning candle within sight, and out of reach of children and pets.

• Never burn a candle on or near anything that can catch fire.

• Do not burn your candle for more than 4 hours at a time.

• Trim candlewicks to 1/4” inch each time before burning.

• Keep the wax pool free of wick trimmings, matches and debris at all times.

• Be sure the candle is placed on a stable, heat resistant surface.

• Be extra careful, and discontinue burning a candle when 1/4 inch of wax remains in the container.

Tunneling is when you light a candle and the wick burns straight down the middle of the candle, causing a tunnel. Here are ways to prevent and correct tunneling in your candle.

• To prevent tunneling, be sure that when you burn the candle you create a full melt pool on the top of the candle.

If your candle is already tunneling, try one of the following methods:

• Cover the top of your candle with aluminum foil and make a 1” wide hole in the center of the aluminum foil above the wick. Light the candle and the sides of the candle should melt down and level back out. Burn up to 4 hours until corrected.

• Use a heatgun or blow dryer to heat the side walls of the candle where the wax is. The glass will become very hot so handle with care. As wax melts down on the sides, pour it out to remove excess. You can also use a butter knife to help shave down the sides as they soften. Do this until the wax is level and about 1/4” of the wick is exposed. Unfortunately, with this method, you will lose some of your candle, or the excess wax can be used in a wax melter.

Having a candle wick that is too short can often cause issues with tunneling. The ideal wick length is 1/4” long. This is enough length to generate enough heat to melt the entirety of the candle without causing excess soot.

if you’ve accidentally trimmed your candle wick too short, you can use a spoon or butter knife to scrape off the top layer of wax of the candle until 1/4” of wick is showing. You can either discard this extra wax or use this in a wax melter.

1. Remove extra wax by heating on a wax melter, or freeze the whole candle jar and pop out the wax with a butter knife.

2. Remove the wick tab from the jar with a pair of pliers or your fingers. A twisting motion works best. Also remove the labels.

3. Using hot water and dish detergent thoroughly wash the glass until no wax or reside remains.

4. Reuse your glassware! The glass is food safe so you can use it as a kitchen glass, or any other use will do!
